Investment Consulting Internship with Highland Consulting Associates via Summer on the Cuyahoga

Internship Description:
You will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of activities within Highland’s investment consulting practice and to build critical work experience in investment research, financial analysis and planning, client service, and business development.

As an intern, you will take on assignments that may include: analyzing investment strategies, structures and vehicles; participating in meetings with investment managers and service providers; conducting asset allocation studies; and creating and delivering reports and presentations. 

Skill Requirements:
We are seeking candidates that have: completed their junior year of a four-year degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics or a related field OR enrolled in a masters level program in any of the previously listed fields by the beginning of the internship; proficiency with computers including MS Office (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint); the ability to perform work with a high degree of quality and timeliness; and the ability to speak and write with clarity and knowledge in areas of responsibility. Exposure to financial software (e.g. Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Investment Metrics, etc.) and programming ability (e.g. in R, SQL, VBA, etc.) are helpful but not required.

Summer 2021 Covid-19 Contingency Planning
Should any internship need to be offered virtually due to ongoing concerns related to the Coronavirus pandemic – SOTC will work with employers and students accordingly. This may mean an in-person programming experience with a virtual work experience OR a fully virtual work and program experience. No decisions will be made until early spring 2021 and students should anticipate that internships will either be in-person or remote with an in-person programming experience. **Vehicle Required (SOTC Offers parking options at dorm)** This company typically hires a minimum of two SOTC interns. At least one must have a car for carpool situation. Location is 20 minutes’ drive from Cleveland where housing/SOTC program is.
